Nuangola Borough Centennial

 
The motto of the centennial will continue to be: "Nuangola 100 years -- PRESERVING THE PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE." In honor of the Centennial Committee and all Nuangola Borough. This motto will serve as a reminder to all of preserving Nuangola for the next 100 years, as a result of the volunteers who made this Centennial a mark in history.
This centennial will be a lasting tribute of the past including a memorable year of activities and events such as , the first activity presentation of Historical Plaque by Luzerne County Historical Society that adorns the Municipal Building ,etc and remembrances,such as , Christmas tree planted by Centennial Committee their gift to future generations ,etc. . At the Closing Ceremony on November 15,2009 , the Centennial Flag was removed and replaced with the Pennsylvania official Flag received from Senator Lisa Baker who attended our events . Also our State Representative Karen Boback made an appearance at all major events . Many of the items, pictures,flag , etc. will be stored away for display at future milestones of the Borough.
 
The Centennial Committee will continue to take orders up thru May 1st 2010:
  • Lawn Signs - These are double sided with above mottos (one on each side) and include the yard stakes. The cost will be one (1) for $6.00, two (2) or more $5.00 each. The order can be written in on the apparel form ; however, the lawn signs cannot be mailed.
  • Pathway of Bricks – Put a lasting remembrance of your or your family name at the Municipal Building front walkway by purchasing an engraved brick and beautifying the walkway.
  • Booklet – Only may be purchased by order placement and will be available in the latter part of 2010. Any pictures of committees, groups, families, etc can be submitted for this booklet by May 1st 2010. For details call (570) 868-5808 and leave a message.
